Mrs McPearl is a celebration of colour, memory, and fabulous accessories — at any age.
Founded by Norma (est. 1956), this brand is built on a simple belief: every piece you wear holds a story.
Norma grew up on a farm and went on to become a primary school teacher — creative, curious, and full of life. These days she’s a proud senior with a signature style and a lifelong love of jewellery.
The funny thing is… Norma didn’t set out to become a jewellery maker. She just had a thing for necklaces.
At 21, at 30, at 40 — special occasions, holidays, trips away — a necklace always found its way into her suitcase (and her life). She’s kept them all, too. By her own admission: she’s a bit of a hoarder. But the charming kind — the kind who keeps treasures because they mean something.
One of her favourite stories goes back to backpacking through Czechoslovakia, where she got completely lost in Prague. Stressed, turned around, and finally returning to the campsite late that night… she still remembers what she’d bought: beautiful beads and accessories, little tokens from the adventure. That’s the thing about jewellery to Norma — it becomes a timestamp for the life you’re living..
Vintage beads, new life.
Every vintage bead is personally sourced by Mrs McPearl from locations across Australia. Each necklace is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind, made from repurposed beads that have lived a life before.
Because they’re vintage, you might notice small imperfections — and we love that. (Who doesn’t have a few?) And there’s no bead-snobbery here: plastic beads can sit proudly alongside semi-precious stones, crystals and pearls of all shapes and quality. If it’s beautiful, it belongs.
Most pieces feature pearls — hence the name Mrs McPearl.
And the best part? We’ll never truly know who wore these beads first. Maybe a wedding day. A big night out. A holiday romance. Maybe they were bought from a department store back when Coles was actually a department store. That mystery is the magic of vintage — the stories are as precious as the beads themselves.
